Para este invierno nos llega de la mano de la casa nipona la reedición de las Asics Gel Lyte V del 93, dentro del Winter Trail Pack de Asics Tiger junto con dos grandes iconos de los años 80 y 90: la Gel-Lyte III del año 90 y la Gel  Saga del 91. Tres clásicos del running al aire libre reinterpretados en el siglo 21 en versión invernal, que no van a dejar indiferente a nadie.

This winter the Japanese brand brings us the re-release of the 1993 Asics Gel Lyte V within the Asics Tiger Winter Trail Pack, along with two icons from the 80s and 90s: the 1990 Gel Lyte III, and the 1991 Gel Saga. These three outdoor running classics have been reinterpreted for the 21st century in a winter version, and will not leave anyone indifferent.

Nos vamos a centrar en la escogida para el outfit, concretamente la Gel Lyte V, que apuesta por una excelente combinación de original diseño, gran calidad de los materiales y la mejor tecnología deportiva.

We will focus on the style chosen for today’s outfit, specifically the Gel Lyte V, which aims for an excellent combination of an original design, high quality materials, and the best sports technology.                                                         

Su inspiración, basada en la disminución gradual de la vegetación desde el otoño hasta el comienzo del invierno, contiene una paleta de colores propios de la naturaleza que van desde las diferentes tonalidades de verdes, pasando por los amarillos, ocres o naranjas, hasta llegar a los marrones rocosos, descansando sobre una entresuela blanca moteada. Los cordones son de cuerda al aire en varios tonos simulando el follaje propio de esta época del año.

Its inspiration, founded on the gradual transition in vegetation as autumn meets winter, contains a colour palette straight from nature, ranging from various green shades, through yellows, ochres, and oranges, to earthy brown hues, sitting on a speckled white midsole. The lightweight rope laces come in various tones symbolizing the foliage of this time of the year.

Entre sus propiedades destacaría su estructura ligera, su gran comodidad gracias al gel y su lenguëta  partida de neopreno (una revolución en su época que sigue llamando la atención hoy en día), que asegura además un gran ajuste a la altura del  empeine y por tanto una mayor estabilidad del pie. No me quiero olvidar de su fortalecimiento gracias a materiales  como el suede o de su transpirabilidad gracias a sus mallas resistentes.

Among its qualities I would highlight its light structure, its great comfort – thanks to the gel – and its neoprene tongue (a revolutionary concept at the time of its original release that still captures our attention today), which further achieves a snug fit to the instep and therefore greater overall stability of the foot. I wouldn’t want to leave out its durability, achieved by materials such as suede, or its breathability resulting from its resistant mesh.

                                           

                                              

Si a todo lo anterior, añadimos que se trata de una colaboración de Asics con uno de los más reputados diseñadores de sneakers del mundo, el neoyorkino Ronnie Fieg, no cabe duda que el modelo Gel Lyte V es la zapatilla de moda.

The features described above, coupled with the collaboration between Asics and New York’s Ronnie Fieg, one of the most respected sneaker designers in the world, leaves no doubt that the Gel Lyte V is the sneaker of the season.
